What we teach
Bible stories, songs and prayer, told plainly
Fireside is run by a Lutheran congregation, and the camp teaches from the Bible the way the congregation does. Each morning has a short devotion with a story, a song and a prayer. The rest of the day is games, crafts, lunch and the outdoors.
Each week follows one story, told in plain words for ages 5 to 12, and the crafts, skits and songs come from it. We do not ask a child to join anything or to make a promise.
A story from the Bible, told in plain words
A song the whole group sings together
A short prayer to open the day and one to close it

A devotion, in three parts
About thirty minutes in the fellowship hall
Phil or a counselor leads it, sitting with the group.
A story
One story from the Bible, told in about ten minutes, which the week's crafts and skits come back to.
A song
One or two songs a day, the same ones all week, with the words said aloud first.
A prayer
A short prayer opens the day and one closes it. Campers may close their eyes, bow their heads or sit quietly.
If your family is new to us
If your family belongs to another church, or to none
Children of every faith and of none are welcome, and no family is asked about its church.
Your child may sit and listen during the devotion. No one is asked to sing, pray aloud or join in.
A camper who prefers to sit out part of the devotion may, and no one remarks on it.
Questions about a week's story go to the director, and you may ask to read the story first.

Come and see the grounds
Come to the information evening in April, or call and ask the director for a walk around the lawn and the fellowship hall.
